SSCF USA Annual Banquet Gala on the evening of Dec 4, 2022 was a resounding success with a delightful lineup of panel discussions and music entertainment followed by generous donations!

After a warm welcome by SSCF board member Vinay Bhardwaj, the evening began with an update by founder Dr. B.S. Srinath about the Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Bengaluru as well as the similar upcoming center in Bhubaneshwar. A similar update about SSCF USA was provided by board member Somashekar. It was very heartening to see that SSCF USA has raised over 1.1 million so far, sponsoring 280 patients with the help of generous donors! This was followed by an inspirational panel discussion on Philanthropy by chief guests Mr. Subroto Bagchi, Mrs. Susmita Bagchi, Mr. B.V. Jagadeesh and moderator Anarghya Vardhana. Next, SSCF Board member Raghu Halur led the pledge drive which generated a huge positive response from the audience. Ardent SSCF volunteer Abhiram Shivaswamy highlighted the volunteer efforts till now. A very sumptuous dinner was followed by the eagerly awaited entertainment segment by accomplished artists Sri. Sanjeev Palamand on the mridangam and Sri. Aravind Sheshadri on the violin. The Avarthanam duo enthralled the guests with blissful music. Vote of thanks by SSCF board member Jyothi Shekar brought the wonderful evening to a close.

An event of this magnitude would not be successful without the help of selfless volunteers. On behalf of SSCF USA, we would like to acknowledge with heartfelt gratitude the efforts of Sai Suma who created a photo booth and provided the perfect location for families and friends to catch up and create some lasting memories, Ramya Venkatesh who compered the event with her beautiful welcoming smile and infectious energy, Ravi Shekar and Yogi Subbaiah, our event photographers who tirelessly captured many a great moment of the evening, Lakshmi Bharadwaj for introducing the panelists, Anarghya Vardhana for seamlessly moderating the panel discussion, Srikanth Govindarajan for being the go-to guy for all tasks end to end, and last but not the least, the enormous efforts of Nandkishore Rane who took care of the entire sound management for the evening and made sure audio quality was top notch. They say charity is the greatest virtue and the gala would not be successful without the virtuous guests who took time from their busy lives to not only attend the event but pledge their monetary support to the cure of pediatric cancer patients. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their noble gesture and pray for their continued support in eradicating childhood cancer. THANK YOU FOR BEING THE CAUSE BEHIND THE CURE!
